Are you interested in handwriting … and have an iPad?
I’m looking for adults who’d like to try some handwriting apps being developed:
Tell me what works, what is confusing, and what needs improvement.
You don’t need technical expertise, and your handwriting doesn’t need to be beautiful.
People with any kind of handwriting — at every level of speed and legibility — are needed.
Developing these apps relies on YOUR individual handwriting.
I’m developing a suite of four apps.
The first one is ready for testers. Testing this first app gives you a first crack at being invited to test the other three. The version is under development.
The versions under development are for iPads and can be used with an Apple Pencil or your finger.
HANDWRITING QUALITY LAB: or HQL for short.
HQL explores how handwriting changes as writing speed changes. You can write with an Apple Pencil or a finger. Testing is arranged through Apple’s TestFlight on a compatible iPad; once you’re interested, I’ll explain the setup and check your device’s compatibility before inviting you to sign up to enter the testing platform and download the app to test
The remaining three handwriting apps are called
• LETTERIST: a tablet game for handwriting improvement
• LETTERS YOUR WAY: an app for creating feature-rich, customized handwriting fonts
• SCRIPTION: an app to categorize and examine specific features of handwriting models and individual handwriting variations
These are at different stages of development, partly because they’ll involve gathering data through HQL, and are expected to be ready for testing at various times from Nov 2026 through mid- to late 2027.

When you get in touch, I’ll get back to you with details on what the current testing involves, so you can decide whether you want to be part of it.
I hope to hear from you soon!
